The world swoons over Virat Kohli’s physical transformation over the last couple of years and its direct impact on his game and it comes as no surprise that it takes a lot of devotion and focus to restructure your lifestyle to achieve your fitness goals and for fitness enthusiast Virat Kohli, weight training and cardio have become an integral part of his lifestyle.

Asked about his transition from another talented youngster to this mean run-machine, Kohli's coach Rajkumar Sharma told CRICKETNEXT that in the last couple of years, he has taken fitness and his eating habits to a different level.

"He takes it so seriously that he got a gym built in his new house. He believes that fitness is very important if you have to succeed in international cricket. And his only goal in life is to keep raising the bar,” he said.

Here is a sneak peek into how the star cricketer sweats it out at the gym:

His morning cardio session includes "15 minutes on the bike at level 3 maintaining an rpm of 120 throughout then straight onto the treadmill for 10 strides of 20 seconds each and step on the sides for 10 seconds rest in between."

10 of these back to back at a speed of 19 km/hr and level 1 on incline.

And all of this using the altitude training mask which makes it twice as hard.

"Train hard train smart. Wish everyone a active and healthy day." says the star cricketer.

Virat loves lifting and believes in training hard and to him fitness has no shortcuts.

"Train hard or dont train at all. Hard work has no shortcuts."

Clean and Squat

Squats happens to be one of the most important exercises for explosive power that helps work the whole lower body and core beautifully.

"Don't try unless you get the technique right." he cautions.

Staying at home is not all about relaxing and lazing around for Virat, fitness freak that he is.

Love training at home. Best place to be. 💪🏻🏋🏼🙏✌🏻️. #grateful #makeverydaycount

And looks like this gruelling fitness regime works wonders for him, giving him more stamina, helping him pick the singles and doubles and turn the singles into doubles.

He doesn’t tire down and hence the need to play risky shots are chucked out of the equation.

"Whatever be his work schedule or travel scene, he always finds time to hit the gym" says his fitness coach.
