Former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan is leading in south Karad in western Maharashtra, over his nearest rival Vilaskaka Undalkar.

Mumbai: Riding on the Modi wave, BJP was emerging as the clear winner in Maharashtra leading in 118 seats while the Shiv Sena was ahead in 70 and Congress in 36 as trends of all 288 Assembly constituencies of state poured in.

Congress was leading in 36 seats, NCP in 44, MNS in 4 and others in 16.

Former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan is leading in south Karad in western Maharashtra, over his nearest rival Vilaskaka Undalkar.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is leading in Baramati, while former Home Minister R R Patil is trailing in Tasgaon seat against BJP nominee Ajit Ghorpade.

Former Chief Minister Narayan Rane is trailing behind Vaibhav Naik of Shiv Sena in Kudal seat of coastal Konkan.

State BJP core committee member Pankaja Munde, the daughter of late Gopinath Munde, is leading in Parli Assembly constituency over estranged cousin Dhananjay Munde of NCP.

Amit Satam of BJP is leading over Ashok Bhau Jadhav of Congress in Mumbai's Andheri West seat. In Nashik-Central, BJP candidate Devyani Pharande is leading over sitting MNS MLA Vasant Gite.

In Igatpuri constituency, sitting Congress MLA Nirmala Gavit is trailing behind NCP's Hiraman Khoskar.

In Nandgaon, sitting MLA Pankaj Bhujbal (NCP) is also trailing, as per the latest trends.

Rahul Thakre, son of MPCC chief Manikrao Thakre, is trailing in his constituency in Yavatmal district. Former President Pratibha Patil's son Rajendra alias Raosaheb Shekhawat (Congress) is trailing in Amravati.
