'Chashme Baddoor' Tweet Review: First day, first show
You will be disappointed if you compare 'Chashme Baddoor' to Sai Paranjpye's original 'Chasme Buddoor'.

New Delhi: Buddy films always strike a chord among cine goers. And Sai Paranjpye's 1981 'Chashme Buddoor' had all the right ingredients to make it to classic's list. Light hearted comedy, innocence of the lead pair made the film an unforgettable one.

Remaking a film which is still well etched in viewer's mind is always a risky thing. David Dhawan, the king of comedy film that ruled the roost in the 1990s, takes on Paranjpye's cult classic, changes a vowel- the new is called 'Chashme Baddoor'- and presents the story in a contemporary way.

Dhawan, a veteran filmmaker, also steers clear of big names and takes relative newcomers to form his lead cast. With Ali Zafar, Siddharth, Divyendu Sharma and Taapsee Pannu, 'Chashme Baddoor' gets a fresh appeal.

So will the new one be able to match up to huge expectations of the audience? Will it have the same kind of innocent humour that Paranjpye's film had?

11: 00 AM: Expectations are high from the film, considering its a remake of a classic Buddy film of the 1980s. #ChashmeBaddoor

11:10 AM: #ChashmeBaddoor cast seems quite exciting. Good to see @Actor_Siddharth in Bollywood film after a long time.

11:20 AM: David Dhawan's films were a huge success in the 1990s. Let's hope #ChashmeBaddoor has Dhawan's signature style.

11:26 AM: Divyendu Sharma's second film after the enjoyable Pyaar Ka Punchnama. #ChashmeBaddoor

11:30 AM: Divyendu plays Omi, Rakesh Bedi's character in the original. While Siddharth reprises Ravi Baswani's character Jai. #ChashmeBaddoor

11:45 AM: There is no subtlety in the film, so far. Which was the high point of the original film. #ChashmeBaddoor

11:52 AM: Lot of spoofs and gags on current actors and films. Quite funny. #ChashmeBaddoor

12:01 PM: Hero may not have money to pay the bills, may be jobless but will still go and meet prospective brides on Ma's behest. #ChashmeBaddoor

12:12 PM: Rishi Kapoor tap dancing! Nice! #ChashmeBaddoor

12:16 PM: @Actor_Siddharth does brilliant mimicry! From Aamir Khan to Amrish Puri, the actor is doing gags on everyone almost. #ChashmeBaddoor

12:24 PM: Having done lot of movies down south, Taapsee Pannu doesn't seem awkward in her debut hindi film. #ChashmeBaddoor

12:28 PM: Lot of slapstick humour. Yes. #ChashmeBaddoor

12:35 PM: @AliZafarsays should sing more. We miss the singer :) #ChashmeBaddoor

12: 42 PM: Unnecessary songs slowing the pace of the film. #ChashmeBaddoor

12:47 PM: The Chamko scene! But...but..oh well. #ChashmeBaddoor

12:53 PM: Okay, the jokes are becoming predictable now. #ChashmeBaddoor

1:00 PM: Dhawan has retained quite a few scenes from the original film. And given it his own twist. #ChashmeBaddoor

1:10 PM: David Dhawan doesn't lose his touch. #ChashmeBaddoor is a typical David Dhawan film.

1:04 PM: #ChashmeBaddoor borrows heavily from the original film as far as scenes and story is concerned. But it is nothing like the 80s classic.

1:11 PM: You will be disappointed if you compare #ChashmeBaddoor to Sai Paranjpye's original Chasme Buddoor. Enjoy it as a David Dhawan film.

1:15 PM: Thanks for being with us throughout the tweet review of #ChashmeBaddoor. Stay tuned for the tweet review of #RiseOfTheZombie
