The Kutch district administration has asked 40,000 local residents staying at the relief camps to return home following the Met department's latest statement.

New Delhi: Cyclone Nilofar is fizzling out as it is approaching the Gujarat coast and the Met Department has said that the wind speed will not exceed 35 kmph when it makes landfall.

The Kutch district administration has asked 40,000 local residents staying at the relief camps to return home following the Met department's latest statement.

Cyclone Nilofar is exected to make a landfall on the Gujarat coast on the night of October 31 or early morning November 1.

Three additional teams of National Disaster Relief Force have been deployed in the state.

NDRF inspector Sanjay Kumar said, "We have boats for rescue, chemical and radiological equipment in case of emergencies. We are prepared for cyclone Nilofar."
