Delhi: Missing minor girl, neighbour found dead in Yamuna
Police recovered a suicide note from the girl's house which said "as my brother is going do die, I am also dying".
New Delhi: Missing since five days from their houses a minor girl and a youth were found dead with their hands tied in the Yamuna river in New Delhi, police said on Sunday. A suicide note was recovered from the girl's house.
They were said to be brother and sister but their relationship was not liked by their family members, police said.
"The 16-year-old girl and the 20-year-old youth, whom she claimed to be her brother, were found dead on Saturday night near the bank of Yamuna river at Sunlight Colony area in south Delhi. Their decomposed bodies were spotted by a fisherman who informed the police," said a police officer.
Police said the girl and her foster brother, a resident of the same locality in Inderpuri in west Delhi, went missing since April 28 afternoon.
Their family members approached the police and lodged their complaints.
A suicide note was recovered from the girl's house which inscribed "as my brother is going do die, I am also dying", said a police officer.
Police said their relationship was against the wishes of their families.
"They might have tied their hands and jumped into the river. The bodies have been handed over to their families after the post-mortem examination conducted at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)," the officer added.
