HYDERABAD: Jagathi Publications Limited vicechairman V Vijay Sai Reddy, who is currently being interrogated by the CBI in connection with Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's illegal assets case, filed a petition in the special CBI court on Thursday seeking a special room in Chanchalguda Central Prison. Magistrate B Naga Maruthi Sharma posted the petition for hearing on January 10.
Stating his status as a tax assessee and taxman of Rs 5 lakh as individual and `20 lakh from his firm and a welleducated person as grounds in the petition, he pleaded the court to grant a special room in the Chanchalguda prison under Section 730 of the AP Prison Act. Accepting the application, the court also directed the CBI to file a counter petition by January 10.
Meanwhile, Vijay Sai Reddy was grilled by the CBI for more than five hours at Dilkusha Guest House. Reddy was picked up by the CBI from the Chanchalguda prison at around 9.45 a.m. on Thursday and dropped him back at the prison at 5.30 p.m. after the interrogation. Vijay sai Reddy's advocates were present at the time of interrogation. Sources said that Vijay Sai Reddy reportedly told the CBI that he has already been questioned 32 times and there is nothing he could reveal to what he has already told the agency.
