BANGALORE: Three men robbed an auto driver of his mobile phone, silver chain and Rs 400 on Friday night in Jnanabharathi police limits.
Lakshman, a resident of Byadarahalli, was driving his auto near Malagala Road from where the miscreants hired the auto. After boarding the auto, they threatened him with a knife and robbed him. They then fled with his auto, abandoning it at a little distance away.
Woman Ends Life
A woman ended her life by hanging herself at her residence on Masjid Road in Kamalanagar under the jurisdiction of Basaveshwaranagar police station. The reason for the suicide is not known.
The deceased has been identified as R Umadevi (43). Her husband and children had reportedly abandoned her and she was living alone.
The police said that Chandramma, the maid who worked in Umadevi's house, came in the morning at around 11.30 am and found her hanging from the ceiling in her room. Later, she informed Umadevi's son Bharat about the incident.
The police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating.
1 Held for Murder
With the arrest of two youth, murder case of a 28 yearoldwoman that was reported on May 7 has been solved.
The accused have been identified as Raghavendra and Hari, both residents of Singapura layout.
The victim Shabana was allegedly running a prostitution racket. Raghavendra had approached her as a customer and demanded money from her. When she refused to pay, he strangulated her on May 3 and dumped the body with the help of Hari.
