New Delhi: Samsung is all set to launch the much-awaited Galaxy S4 in India today. The phone is likely to be priced somewhere around Rs 42,000; the exact price will be revealed during the launch event that is happening today.
Samsung's latest flagship phone, the Galaxy S4, which has a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 441 ppi, will compete with the recently launched HTC One.
The Galaxy S4's screen is 56 per cent larger than the iPhone's. It weighs 130g and is 7.9 mm thick; it's slimmer than its predecessor. The phone will either come powered by a 1.9 GHz quad-core Processor or a 1.6 GHz Octa-Core processor. However, the company is expected to launch the octa-core version in India. The selection of the processor will be differed by markets.
We expect Samsung to launch the 16GB model today. Its memory can be expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card slot. The phone has has 2GB RAM. Powered by a 2600 mAh battery, its battery is 20 per cent larger than that of the S III.
Running Android 4.2.2 OS, the Galaxy S4 has a 13 megapixel auto focus camera with flash and zero shutter lag. It has a 2 megapixel front camera with Full HD recording @30fps with zero shutter lag.
Its dual camera feature lets you shoot with the front and rear cameras simultaneously. When capturing moments, users can choose from a variety of frame effects which blend the two pictures naturally and also adjust the size of the small picture inside the big one. Users can select 8 different ways to combine the two photos taken by the front camera and the rear camera.
The Sound and Shot feature on the Galaxy S4 allows you to record a few seconds of audio before you capture. In this way, you can enrich any picture by adding background sounds for a few seconds. The Drama Shot, on the other hand, lets you take a series of pictures of a moving subject, and merge them into one picture. Thus, it allows you to see all the action in one continuous time-lapse.
The S4 can stop and start videos depending on whether someone is looking at the screen, flip between songs and photos at the wave of a hand, and record sound to run alongside snapped still pictures.
The phone also allows users to hover a finger over an email inbox or a photo gallery to get a glimpse of more details of what's in the email or which photos are in an album.
