New Delhi: Theater owners are happy with the response Aamir Khan's forthcoming film 'Talaash' is receiving. Apparently, the strong buzz around the film has helped the promoters of the film in getting a healthy pre-booking. The multiplex owners had started the advance booking on November 25, five days ahead of the scheduled release of the film. This shows the confidence of the makers who are leaving no stone unturned in getting a good opening for their film on a non-holiday Friday.
"Owing to strong buzz and humungous inquiries from patrons, we opened the advance booking for 'Talaash' on Sunday pan India at all our Cinemax multiplexes," said Girish Wankhede, national marketing head, Cinemax India Ltd., in a statement.
"The response was quite amazing as we were able to book around 700 tickets on the very first day. Lot of corporate bookings and bulk bookings are also happening. We are very upbeat and foresee another big blockbuster," he added.
Shashank Raizada, managing director of capital-based Delite Cinema, said: "We had to open the advance booking of 'Talaash' one day earlier, on Sunday, as people were coming and asking for tickets. Actually in reality, we started getting many block bookings almost 15 days ago. Our conventional booking has also been very good."
'Talaash' is all set to go public on November 30 in around 2500 screens in India and more than 500 screens overseas, which means a good opening will bring the film on the verge of being a hit. '3 Idiots', which had got a fabulous opening, was released in 415 screens in overseas and thus 'Talaash' is likely to earn more in foreign markets on the first day due to more number of screens.
Reportedly, the satellite rights of the film are sold at a price close to Rs 40 crore which makes the producers richer by Rs 40 crore even before the release of the film. As per media reports, the budget of the film is also Rs 40 crore, which makes it a break-even venture even before its release.
Aamir Khan's track record at the box office is another factor which will work in favour of the film, the promos have also generated interest among the viewers. All these factors together are supposed to fetch 'Talaash' a good number of initial footfalls. (With inputs from IANS)
