Two Packets of Drugs Seized From Aircraft's Catering Trolley at Delhi Airport

Two Packets of Drugs Seized From Aircraft's Catering Trolley at Delhi Airport

New Delhi: Two packets of a narcotic substance have been seized from a catering trolley of an aircraft at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) here.

The two packets wrapped in black coloured tape was found on Wednesday by catering supervisor (Sky Gourmet) Arvind Kumar hidden beneath the cutlery when the catering trolley of a plane that had arrived from Chennai was being moved.

IGIA authorities said that sleuths of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) were called in on the suspicion that the packets may contain narcotic drugs. After checking, they found the packets to contain 1,895 gm mixture of morphine and it has been deposited at the Customs warehouse, according to the procedure.

The NCB has also taken a sample of the suspected drug item for testing and are investigating the case.
