Arahama: A tear-jerking video of a hurt and confused dog standing guard over an injured friend amidst the ruins of Japan's monstrous earthquake and tsunami is a hit on YouTube.

The video is a testimony to the fact that dogs are not just loyal to man but to their canine friends as well. Both the dogs were taken into the care of an animal shelter after the video was aired on a Japanese television channel.

The heroic dog in Japan's Arahama area looked confused and in shock and kept the cameramen away from his injured friend lying down on the ground while nudging the inert animal with his nose.

The dog wore a collar indicating he is a someone's pet lost in the disaster that struck Japan a week back.
