Jaitley call records: Accused constable's bail plea to be heard today
Constable Arvind Dabas was arrested on February 14, along with three private detectives.

New Delhi: Constable Arvind Dabas, who was arrested in the Arun Jaitley phone records in February 2013 has applied for bail. His hearing is expected to come up in a Delhi Court on Saturday. Dabas was arrested on February 14, along with three private detectives.

He is accused of providing call details of prominent politicians to a private detective in Delhi, including that of BJP leader Arun Jaitley.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police is investigating a possible rivalry within the BJP as the possible reason behind the tracking of call records of Jaitley, sources said. The sources added that the police is probing why BJP leaders, including Jaitley, Sudhanshu Mittal, Vijay Goel and Nitin Gadkari, were being tracked.

Private detective Anurag Singh and his aides had allegedly attempted to take out call detail records (CDRs) of several BJP leaders and other politicians. Singh was earlier involved in tracking the call records of former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh. Sources said that he was trying to weaken the case against him which is how he got involved in the present case.
