EC says it has video of Ghosh abusing Mamata
The EC said that it has received a video-clipping of Ghosh's public meeting where he allegedly abused Mamata.
Kolkata: The Election Commission on Monday said that it has received a video-clipping of West Bengal minister and CPM leader Sushanta Ghosh's public meeting where he allegedly used foul language against TMC chief Mamata Banerjee.
"We will send the document to the Election Commission along with a transcription of the statement against which a complaint has been lodged for scrutiny and action," West Bengal, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Sunil Kumar Gupta said.
The Trinamool Congress had lodged a complaint on April 29 with the CEO against Ghosh for using "foul language" against Mamata at an election meeting. It was the second such incident in a fortnight in which the party lodged a complaint against a senior CPM leader for using foul language against its leader.
The complaint against Ghosh claimed that the Pashimanchal Unnayan Affairs Minister had used filthy language against Mamata at an election meeting in East Midnapore district on April 28.
"We immediately asked the District Electoral Officer to send his report on this along with a video-clipping of the meeting," the CEO said.
