Guj polls will alter course of politics at Centre: Modi
An affirmative Gujarat CM Narendra Modi said that the state Assembly polls will give a new direction to the country.

New Delhi: An affirmative Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the Assembly elections in his state would change the course of politics at the Centre. "Gujarat Assembly polls will change the course of politics at the Centre. The Congress has only done vote-bank politics. Gujarat elections will provide a new direction to the entire country," Modi said.

The statement seemed packaged to convey and affirm, in some way, what senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj had said about the Gujarat CM a little earlier. During a campaign rally in Vadodara, Sushma had said that Modi was fit to be Prime Minister. "There are no two views on Modi being a competent candidate for PM's post. Modi has done great work in Gujarat," she had said.

Meanwhile, continuing his attack on the Congress, Modi said that the ruling party was using "all sorts of abuses against me". Modi, in the recent past, has been called everything from a monkey to Ravan to a mouse by Congress party leaders.

On Saturday, it was Modi's turn to pay back. Addressing rallies at six places in Gujarat, the CM asked Congress President Sonia Gandhi to change her 'disha' as her party would never reach Gandhinagar.

The remark was a swipe at a Congress advertisement based on the theme 'Disha Badlo, Dasha Badlo (Change the direction, change the situation).

Continuing the attack, Modi alleged that the "misrule" of the Congress led by Sonia will script its "worst-ever" drubbing at the hands of BJP in coming Assembly elections.
