Google might be looking for the LG flexible OLED display in its next Pixel phones.
LG Electronics will reportedly make the next Google Pixel XL smartphone. The first Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphone were manufactured by HTC. According to a report by 9to5 Google, Google might be looking for the LG flexible OLED display in its next Pixel phones.

While it is too early to comment on whether HTC is continuing to make Pixel phones or not, the Pixel 2 smartphone dubbed as Taimen was already leaked in benchmark reports. The Pixel XL could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC. The report points at “a bug entry by an LG employee” to reveal this information.

Google has already announced the end-of-life dates for the Pixel and Pixel XL. In its support page, Google has clearly mentioned that there is “No guaranteed Android version updates after” October 2018 for the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.

Also, both the devices are not guaranteed to get security updates after October 2019. As far as Nexus smartphones are considered, the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X could stop getting Android version updates after September 2017, and exactly after a year, both the devices might stop receiving security updates.

With Google confirming that Pixel 2 will be available in 2017, we expect the smartphones to launch around September or October. Rick Osterloh - senior vice president, hardware at Google has already said that Pixel will stay premium
