We all know that Google does not reveal official sales numbers but, a recent report indicates the sales numbers of the company's first completely self-branded phone, the Google Pixel.

The sales numbers of the Pixel phones have been gathered from the figures for the Pixel Launcher on Google Play Store. It is to be noted that the Pixel Launcher is exclusive to the Pixel phones only. The download numbers are currently sitting at 1,000,000-5,000,000 mark.

The Google Play Store does not provide an exact figure, but given that the app recently crossed into the 1,000,000 mark, it is safe to say that Google has sold at least 10 lakh units of the Pixel phones, says the report.

Google had launched Pixel phones after bidding adieu to the Nexus lineup in October 2016. It was being seen as Google's answer to the Apple iPhone.

To recall, the Pixel smartphone comes with a 12.3-megapixel, f/2.0 rear camera. The camera of the Pixel smartphone offers zero shutter lag and comes with HDR+ by default. The device sports an aluminium unibody design with polished glass combination. It also has a fingerprint sensor on it. Google has hinted on two battery options on the Pixel phones at 2770 mAh and 3450 mAh. The phone will have USB Type-C connectivity.

Google Pixel XL comes with a similar spec sheet apart from a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display and a bigger 3450mAh battery.
