Don't know the cause of Pratyusha Banerjee's death, but this isn't the way to end life: Kushal Tandon

New Delhi: Actor Kushal Tandon says he was completely shocked and saddened to learn of the death of ‘Bigg Boss’ house inmate Pratyusha Banerjee.
For the uninitiated, the popular actress who rose to fame with her character - Anandi Shivraj Shekhar - in TV show ‘Balika Vadhu’ attempted suicide on Friday and had to be rushed to Kokilaben Hospital, Mumbai where she was declared dead.
Speaking exclusively to IBNLive Movies, Tandon said, "I’m absolutely shocked with this news. Initially, I thought it was an April Fools Day prank. But the tragic news turned out to be a true incident. Even though I don’t know the cause of her death, this isn’t the way to end one’s life. She was too young to take such a drastic step. Committing suicide is such a selfish step. She should have thought of her parents. May God rest her soul in peace, and give strength to her family to bear this loss."
The actress was also seen in reality shows such as ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5’, ‘Bigg Boss 7’, and many more.
Tandon, who was seen with Pratyusha and many others in the popular reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss 7’, remembers the actress as a happy, normal girl. “I haven’t been in touch with her. It was about nine months back that we met at an event. But from what I remember during my stint in ‘Bigg Boss’ she came across as a normal person – just like anyone of us. But it is very difficult to know what’s going on in one’s mind. The recent news about Pratyusha – non-payment of bills and other issues – hinted at something serious."
