More protests are planned in Delhi on Saturday and security has been stepped up at the Delhi Police Headquarters.
Delhi Police has registered a case and slapped charges of kidnapping, sexual assault, attempt to murder and unnatural sex on the accused.
A youth allegedly involved in the rape of a five-year-old girl in Delhi was arrested in Muzzaffarpur in Bihar by the police on early Saturday morning.
The girl and her family stayed in the same building where accused, Manoj Kumar lived. The accused, who had come to Chiknouta by a train, was traced after tracking his mobile phone location, police sources said.
Delhi witnessed anger on Friday and Saturday as the news of the rape of a five-year-old girl emerged. The five-year-old girl was raped in east Delhi's Gandhi Nagar area. Police said the girl was locked up in the room by the accused for almost 40 hours.
The five-year-old is being treated at AIIMS and doctors say she is stable and responding to antibiotics.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) members are staging a protest outside Delhi Police Headquarters at ITO. The protest has also been joined by CPI leader later.
Delhi Police has appealed the protesters to maintain peace. Police personnel have been instructed not to manhandle protesters.
It was barely months ago, when the rape of a 23-year-old paramedical student in Delhi sparked public fury.
The accused, working as labourer in Delhi, is a native of Bharphua village of the district.
