Three bomb blasts rocked the cities of Lucknow, Varanasi and Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh within minutes of each other on Friday, killing at least 12 people on the spot and injuring several others.
The UP Police has put the death toll at 12 at the moment. In Varanasi alone, 5 have been reported dead and about 20 injured.
In Varasani, the blast occurred at a local court premises in the Cant Area during the busy court hour. Over 2,000 people were present in the court premises when the bomb went off.
According to unconfirmed reports two bombs went off simultaneously in Varanasi. Telecommunication systems have collapsed in the area.
A cycle-bomb is believed to have been used in the blast. Bangalore and New Delhi have been put on high alert in view o Friday prayers.

UP Intelligence sources have told CNN_IBN that Indian Mujahideen have the taken the responsibility of the blasts.
Intelligence Bureau sources tell CNN-IBN that blasts are somehow linked the arrest of three J-e-M terrorists earlier this week.
