Google announced a new version of its Android operating system - Android 4.2, which is a minor update to Andorid 4.1 (Jelly Bean) - which now powers more than 500 million devices worldwide. Android 4.2 (also known as Jelly Bean) is a new flavour of Andoir 4.1 (Jelly Bean).
In 2012, Google completed its $12.5 billion acquisition of cell phone maker Motorola Mobility Holdings. Google acquired Motorola Mobility for $40 per share in cash. This is the biggest deal in Google's 14-year history.

For the first time Google joined hands with LG for its Nexus smartphones. In collaboration with LG, Google launched the Nexus 4 smatphone at an impressive price. Google launched the contract-free version at $299 with 8 gigabytes of storage and $349 with 16 gigabytes of storage. The device is expected to hit the Indian market in January 2013.
Google launched its long-rumoured cloud-based storage service Google Drive - a place where users can create, share, collaborate, and keep all their stuff. The newly launched service lets users upload and access all their files, including videos, photos, Google Docs, PDFs and much more. Google Drive is offering the first five gigabytes of storage per account for free. Additional storage will be sold for prices starting at $2.49 per month for 25 gigabytes.
