Navy rescues 200 people stranded in flood hit Chennai: RK Dhowan

Rescue and relief operations by the Navy are on in full swing in Tamil Nadu. Navy Chief Admiral RK Dhowan has said that 200 people have been rescued till Thursday morning. "Rescue work by Indian Coast Guard continues. Six relief teams have been formed which comprise of 57 men and 6 officers. 200 people have been evacuated till today morning. 2,000 food packets have been distributed. First aid have been provided to 250 injured people. Joint team with police have been formed to undertake relief operations," said Dhowan.
