In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Aska, recorded a voter turnout of 60.99%. The voter turnout in the 2014 Assembly elections was 59.33% and in 2009, 52.62% of Aska's voters came out to elect their Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA).
In the 2014 Odisha state Assembly elections, Debaraj Mohanty of BJD won in this seat defeating INC's candidate by a margin of 23,499 votes which was 21.69% of the total votes polled. Debaraj Mohanty polled a total of 1,08,334 (52.25%) votes.
BJD's Debaraj Mohanty won this seat in the 2009 Odisha Assembly elections beating the ADMK candidate by a margin of 29986 (34.02%) votes. Debaraj Mohanty polled 88,154 which was 52.25% of the total votes polled.
