In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Chandabali, recorded a voter turnout of 75.81%. The voter turnout in the 2014 Assembly elections was 75.69% and in 2009, 68.28% of Chandabali's voters came out to elect their Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA).
In the 2014 Odisha state Assembly elections, Byomkesh Ray of BJD won in this seat defeating INC's candidate by a margin of 24,883 votes which was 15.97% of the total votes polled. Byomkesh Ray polled a total of 1,55,859 (43.57%) votes.
BJD's Bijaya Nayak won this seat in the 2009 Odisha Assembly elections beating the JMM candidate by a margin of 7613 (5.67%) votes. Bijaya Nayak polled 1,34,203 which was 43.57% of the total votes polled.
Chandabali went to the polls in Phase 4 of the 2019 Odisha Assembly polls on Monday, April 29, 2019. The election results for the seat are scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2019.
