In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, Arithang, recorded a voter turnout of 66.21%. The voter turnout in the 2014 Assembly elections was 73.22% and in 2009, 73.65% of Arithang's voters came out to elect their Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA).
In the 2014 Sikkim state Assembly elections, Shyam Pradhan of SKM won in this seat defeating SDF's candidate by a margin of 1,606 votes which was 23.1% of the total votes polled. Shyam Pradhan polled a total of 6,951 (60.95%) votes.
SDF's Narendra Kr Pradhan won this seat in the 2009 Sikkim Assembly elections beating the SP candidate by a margin of 1455 (26.71%) votes. Narendra Kr Pradhan polled 5,447 which was 60.95% of the total votes polled.
Arithang went to the polls in Phase 1 of the 2019 Sikkim Assembly polls on Thursday, April 11, 2019. The election results for the seat are scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2019.
