In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, Khamdong-Singtam, recorded a voter turnout of 79.16%. The voter turnout in the 2014 Assembly elections was 83.92% and in 2009, 84.24% of Khamdong-Singtam's voters came out to elect their Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA).
In the 2014 Sikkim state Assembly elections, Som Nath Poudyal of SDF won in this seat defeating SKM's candidate by a margin of 270 votes which was 2.81% of the total votes polled. Som Nath Poudyal polled a total of 9,604 (56.37%) votes.
SDF's Am Prasad Sharma won this seat in the 2009 Sikkim Assembly elections beating the BSP candidate by a margin of 1266 (16.6%) votes. Am Prasad Sharma polled 7,625 which was 56.37% of the total votes polled.
Khamdong-Singtam went to the polls in Phase 1 of the 2019 Sikkim Assembly polls on Thursday, April 11, 2019. The election results for the seat are scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2019.
