In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, Lachen Mangan, recorded a voter turnout of 82.19%. The voter turnout in the 2014 Assembly elections was 85.13% and in 2009, 89.48% of Lachen Mangan's voters came out to elect their Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA).
In the 2014 Sikkim state Assembly elections, Tshering Wangdi Lepcha of SDF won in this seat defeating SKM's candidate by a margin of 557 votes which was 9.52% of the total votes polled. Tshering Wangdi Lepcha polled a total of 5,852 (53.3%) votes.
SDF's Tshering Wangdi Lepcha won this seat in the 2009 Sikkim Assembly elections beating the INC candidate by a margin of 779 (15.27%) votes. Tshering Wangdi Lepcha polled 5,101 which was 53.3% of the total votes polled.
Lachen Mangan went to the polls in Phase 1 of the 2019 Sikkim Assembly polls on Thursday, April 11, 2019. The election results for the seat are scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2019.
