This constituency has 11,762 voters of which are male and are female and voters of the third gender.
In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, Rangang-Yangang, recorded a voter turnout of 80.92%. The voter turnout in the 2014 Assembly elections was 84.48% and in 2009, 85.44% of Rangang-Yangang's voters came out to elect their Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA).
In the 2014 Sikkim state Assembly elections, Pawan Chamling of SDF won in this seat defeating SKM's candidate by a margin of 3,142 votes which was 31.62% of the total votes polled. Pawan Chamling polled a total of 9,936 (68.24%) votes.
SDF's Chandra Bdr Karki won this seat in the 2009 Sikkim Assembly elections beating the INC candidate by a margin of 3197 (39.25%) votes. Chandra Bdr Karki polled 8,145 which was 68.24% of the total votes polled.
Rangang-Yangang went to the polls in Phase 1 of the 2019 Sikkim Assembly polls on Thursday, April 11, 2019. The election results for the seat are scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2019.
