In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, West Pendam, recorded a voter turnout of 76.83%. The voter turnout in the 2014 Assembly elections was 82.63% and in 2009, 82.94% of West Pendam's voters came out to elect their Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA).
In the 2014 Sikkim state Assembly elections, Gopal Baraily of SKM won in this seat defeating SDF's candidate by a margin of 920 votes which was 8.97% of the total votes polled. Gopal Baraily polled a total of 10,261 (53.53%) votes.
SDF's Neeru Sewa won this seat in the 2009 Sikkim Assembly elections beating the BSP candidate by a margin of 1063 (13.71%) votes. Neeru Sewa polled 7,755 which was 53.53% of the total votes polled.
West Pendam went to the polls in Phase 1 of the 2019 Sikkim Assembly polls on Thursday, April 11, 2019. The election results for the seat are scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2019.
