The Congress is going solo this time in Uttar Pradesh, its campaign steered by party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Despite mounting speculation, she has not given any indication of making her electoral debut. ‘Ladki Hun, Lad Sakti Hun’ is the party’s war cry this time, and it has tried to corner the Yogi Adityanath government on the issues of safety of women and minorities. The grand old party was relegated to the fourth spot in the 2017 elections with seven seats in the 403-seat Assembly.
