Sahar Zaman

An alumnus of Delhi’s Jamia Milia Islamia, Sahar has been in television news since 2001. A founder-member of the CNN-IBN team, Sahar is a main-news anchor and an arts correspondent. As anchor Sahar has been in the thick of breaking news action, recent examples of this has included the Telangana state issue, General Elections 2009, the military offensive in Sri Lanka, Pakistan's war on terror and the racial attacks in Australia. Sahar is the only TV journalist in India to have done a sting operation on the fake art market in India. She has also done exclusive documentaries on artists. However, her favourite remains one on MF Husain’s life in Dubai. Her other features have included issues such as ‘out-of-the-box’ art in India, new media artists, trends and special features on India’s top contemporary artists like Subodh Gupta and Mithu Sen. She has also been invited by Dawn News in Pakistan and Young Asia TV in Sri Lanka to speak about the role of journalism and art in India and its significance in the subcontinent.
