Pakistan's Abid Ali became the first man to score a century in both ODI and Test debut, bringing up the latter in the first game against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi on Sunday (December 15).
Abid got the landmark in his 182nd ball with a couple of Vishwa Fernando. He ended on 109* as Pakistan reached 252 for 2 when the game ended in a draw.
Abid had made 112 off 119 in his ODI debut against Australia in Dubai in March this year. He also became the 13th Pakistani to score a ton on Test debut.
With rain playing spoilsport throughout the Test, Day 5 was all about personal milestones. Sri Lanka declared on 308 for 6, after which Pakistan lost opener Shan Masood for duck.
Abid, the other opener, added 87 for the second wicket with captain Azhar Ali. Once the latter fell, Babar Azam and Abid added an unbroken 162 for the third wicket. Babar remained unbeaten on 102.
The second Test starts on December 19 in Karachi.
