It was not long ago that Dale Steyn stirred up a social media storm saying the Pakistan Super Lague is more rewarding than the Indian Premier League and after the news of PSL 6 being postponed indefinitely after cases of covid-19 were reported among the players despite in the bio-secure bubble, Indian fans have taken over social media flooding the social space with Dale Steyn inspired memes.

“Following a meeting with the team owners and considering the health and wellbeing of all participants is paramount, the Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to postpone the HBL Pakistan Super League 6 with immediate effect. The decision was made after seven cases were reported in the competition, which had started on 20 February,” a PCB release said on Thursday.

A day after pacer Dale Steyn’s comment on IPL created a furor on social media, the former South African international on Wednesday took to social media to clarify his statements and said what he said was taken out of context and he did not intend to degrade, insult or compare any leagues.

Steyn had said he found playing in leagues like Pakistan Super League ‘more rewarding’ as a player compared to the Indian Premier League. Steyn explained that there is too much focus on money in the IPL and ‘cricket gets forgotten’, while the game remains the central focus in other leagues.
