New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum has won the toss and elected to bat first. Both teams are at the bottom of the Test rankings and would be hoping to improve on that. Corey Anderson and Marshall Ayub will be making their debuts for Kiwis and Bangladesh respectively.

New Zealand will be missing their premier spinner Daniel Vettori who underwent a surgery for a troublesome Achilles tendon. The weather does not look great and rain is likely to play spoil sport.
