The highlight of the day was Sohag Gazi's unbeaten century, which took Bangladesh to the score of 501 and a small lead of 32 runs. At stumps on day four which was forced to be taken early due to rain, New Zealand were 121 for 1 and a lead of 89 runs.

Hamish Rutherford was the first wicket to fall in New Zealand's second innings when the batsman was trapped lbw by Nasir Hossain. But after that Kane Williamson and Peter Fulton steadied things.
