New Delhi: Delhi Daredevils young batsman Rishabh Pant played a sensational knock and almost guided his team to a famous victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore on the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday night.
Pant changed the dynamics of the match after coming onto bat in the eighth over, after Delhi had lost three crucial wickets at the top.
The southpaw hit a brilliant 36-ball 57 but eventually got out on the first ball of the final over as Delhi succumbed to 15 runs defeat in the end.
The Daredevils may have lost the match, but Rishabh Pant is being applauded for his courage and professionalism. Rishabh's father Rajendra Pant passed on Wednesday night due to a cardiac arrest and the Indian cricketer learned about the passing of his father while he was his team in New Delhi.
Pant performed the last rites of his father on Thursday in Haridwar and joined up with his team in Bangalore on Friday night. So much must have been going into the youngster's mind but Pant showed exemplary courage to take the field for his team.

What a difficult moment for young Rishabh Pant. Lost his father only a couple of days, back in the field asap. Good luck!

Pant may just be 19 years old but he has shown maturity level which is well beyond his age. On a day when the Delhi batsman imploded chasing a modest target, Pant shone the brightest despite being on the losing side.
