4th ODI: Chamu Chibhabha's all-round show helps Zimbabwe sink Afghanistan

Man-of-the-match Chamu Chibhabha first contributed with 53 runs and then returned figures of four wickets for 25 runs as his all-round show propelled Zimbabwe to a 65-run victory in the fourth One-day international against Afghanistan in Sharjah on Monday.

With the win on Monday, Zimbabwe and Afghanistan are leveled 2-2 in the five-ODI series and the final ODI will be played at the same place on Wednesday.

Peter Moor (52 runs off 72 balls) along with Chibhabha (53 off 92) gave Zimbabwe a rousing start as they knitted 92 runs for the opening-wicket partnership. However, when the duo was dismissed, no batsman from Zimbabwe could follow in their footsteps and the next best scorer was their start batsman Hamilton Masakadza, who scored 26 off 40 balls. Despite no significant partnership came in later stages, Zimbabwe still managed to score 226 all out in 49.1 overs. For Afghanistan, medium pacer Dawlat Zadran and leggie Rashid Khan took three wickets each.

Although 227 looked a reachable target, it turned out to be a monumental feat Afghanistan, who after winning first two ODIs, stuttered dramatically. If the efforts of opener Mohammad Shahzad (45 off 72 balls) and Hasmatullah Shahidi (31 off 67) are left apart, no Afghanistan batsman could muster courage to face Zimbabwe attack convincingly and the team was out for 161 runs in 45 overs.

Apart from Chibhabha, Graeme Cremer (two for 38) and Neville Madziva (two for 22) were also effective with the ball for Zimbabwe.
