Fleming set to return to Kiwi team

Wellington: New Zealand skipper Stephen Fleming is set for a return to the team for the fourth match of the One-Day series against Sri Lanka.

Fleming was rested for the first three games of the five-match series, which New Zealand lead 2-1.

He takes the place of Nathan Astle who is being rested for the fourth match in Auckland as part of coach John Bracewell's rotation policy aimed at having a wider pool of match-fit players for the World Cup starting in March.

Batsman Craig McMillan also returns to the squad, the team management said in a statement on Wednesday.

After being out of the side for the last year, the veteran batsman returned for the second match of the series but scored only two runs.

He takes the place of James Marshall, who scored 50 in the second match.

"With the continued use of Brendon McCullum at the top of the order, it is now necessary to introduce a player who can provide a powerful finish to the innings and we are looking to Craig to provide that," Bracewell said.

Team: Stephen Fleming (C), Andre Adams, Shane Bond, James Franklin, Peter Fulton, Mark Gillespie, Hamish Marshall, Michael Mason, Brendon McCullum (WK), Craig McMillan, Jeetan Patel, Ross Taylor, Daniel Vettori.
