Gayle Storm: When a Jamaican Set Bengaluru on Fire

On April 23, exactly 4 years to this day, Chris Gayle had set the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on fire.

Playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gayle smashed 175 runs in just 66 balls in an Indian Premier League against Pune Warriors.

During his brutal innings, the Jamaican powerhouse sent record books flying out of the park - the fastest T20 century (off 30 balls) and the most sixes in an innings (17).

Gayle innings also saw Royal Challengers Bangalore get to a record total of 263 in their allotted 20 overs.

Gayle's domination at the crease was clearly visible.

He stitched a 167-run opening stand with teammate Tillakaratne Dilshan, who contributed only 33 to the partnership.

In reply to a mammoth total, the Aaron Finch-led Pune Warriors could only manage 133 for 9.
