HIGHLIGHTS

  • 21:45 (IST)

FOUR! Shrubsole shows absolutely no nerve and just cuts it away for a boundary! SA are dejected and rightly so, Van Niekerk is in tears and so are a couple of other players. SA fought hard but you have to say their poor fielding let them down. Enland will play the final at Lord's.

  • 21:42 (IST)

WICKET! Slower one and Marsh has to go! Wow, 2 runs required of 3 balls now..England players cant believe it. But Ismail keeps SA in it for now!

  • 21:36 (IST)

WICKET! Wilson departs now, 4 runs coming off the over and an important wicket of the last one. 6 runs required of 2 overs nowm you have to say its a bit too late now or is there maybe one last twist?

  • 21:32 (IST)

This might be the over that might have sealed the fate, 10 runs coming off that one. Gunn getting a couple of boundaries and England getting 10 runs off that one. Now 10 required off 18 balls

  • 21:13 (IST)

WICKET! Catherine Brunt departs for 12, Daniels gets the wicket. The required run rate also touches 6. Things aren't looking good for England here. They have just 4 wickets in hand. The pitch also is deteriorating with big hits becoming difficult.

  • 20:39 (IST)

WICKET! Sciver departs now, Luus gets the second wicket in the over, she has got Sciver around her legs, ball pitched behind her pads and goes onto hit the leg stump. England are in trouble here!

  • 20:37 (IST)

WICKET! Now then, captain Heather Knight departs off a rather innocuous looking full toss. A full toss which could have been hit anywhere in the ground, and the England captain has hit it straight to Woolvardt at square leg. She takes a good catch, two new batters and now we surely have a game on our hands.

  • 20:30 (IST)

WICKET! Wow, a wicket out of nowhere for South Africa. Taylor, who had just reached her half-century has to depart now. She is run out after being caught short of her crease. A superb direct hit from captain Van Niekerk. Can SA fight back from here?

  • 20:28 (IST)

50! Sarah Taylor has reached her half-century, a great innings under pressure from her. She has proven why she is considered among the top batters in the World.

  • 20:02 (IST)

100 up for England within 24 overs, two most experienced batters Taylor and Knight batting in the middle, and it looks all too comfortable at the moment. 119 runs required of 26 overs.

  • 19:25 (IST)

WICKET! Khaka strikes again, Beaumnont departs now. She was trying to go across the line but again misses the ball which goes on to clatter the stumps. SA fighting back slowly here.

  • 19:07 (IST)

WICKET! First wicket for South Africa and Winfield departs, trying to go for the maximum, she takes a couple of steps down the crease but only manages to sky that one and Du Preez takes an easy catch. Khaka gets the wicket.

  • 19:01 (IST)

Expensive over from Ismail, 13 runs coming off that one  England are really off to a flier here. They just need to play smart cricket from here on and can reach the final without taking any unnecessary risks. Wicket-keeper Chetty is also hobbling off the ground, not lookng food for the South Africans.

  • 18:06 (IST)

That;s it after the end of 50 overs, South Africa end on 218/6. South Africa will have to bowl really well here to defend this target, England firm favourites at half-way stage.

  • 17:38 (IST)

50! Du Preez completes her half-century, it took her 74 balls. She has to look for the big hits now, and is the only player who can take South Africa somewhere close to 250.

21:45 (IST)

FOUR! Shrubsole shows absolutely no nerve and just cuts it away for a boundary! SA are dejected and rightly so, Van Niekerk is in tears and so are a couple of other players. SA fought hard but you have to say their poor fielding let them down. Enland will play the final at Lord's.

21:42 (IST)

WICKET! Slower one and Marsh has to go! Wow, 2 runs required of 3 balls now..England players cant believe it. But Ismail keeps SA in it for now!

21:39 (IST)

3 runs off that over, and we are down to the final over of the innings. 3 runs are required off 6 balls. England can't blow this now, can they?

21:36 (IST)

WICKET! Wilson departs now, 4 runs coming off the over and an important wicket of the last one. 6 runs required of 2 overs nowm you have to say its a bit too late now or is there maybe one last twist?

21:32 (IST)

This might be the over that might have sealed the fate, 10 runs coming off that one. Gunn getting a couple of boundaries and England getting 10 runs off that one. Now 10 required off 18 balls

21:28 (IST)

Another good over for England, 9 runs coming off it. Lizelle Lee with a costly misfield which goes for a boundary. Gunn and Wilson showing great composure here. South Africa can do with a wicket here.

21:25 (IST)

Good over for England, 8 runs coming off it. Gunn got a boundary of the first ball and then the batters got a couple of singles. before Kapp bowled a couple of wides. She came back strongly though to finish with three dot balls.

21:19 (IST)

6 overs left and 36 runs to win..we are in for a nail biter here..Fran Wilson is the key player for England here you have to say..

21:13 (IST)

WICKET! Catherine Brunt departs for 12, Daniels gets the wicket. The required run rate also touches 6. Things aren't looking good for England here. They have just 4 wickets in hand. The pitch also is deteriorating with big hits becoming difficult.

21:01 (IST)

Brunt and Wilson have built sort of a small partnership here, but this game is still far from over. The difference between runs required and balls bowled is just 8 balls now. It will be interesting once the required run rate reaches 6.

20:39 (IST)

WICKET! Sciver departs now, Luus gets the second wicket in the over, she has got Sciver around her legs, ball pitched behind her pads and goes onto hit the leg stump. England are in trouble here!

20:37 (IST)

WICKET! Now then, captain Heather Knight departs off a rather innocuous looking full toss. A full toss which could have been hit anywhere in the ground, and the England captain has hit it straight to Woolvardt at square leg. WICKET! Wow, a wicket out of nowhere for South Africa. Taylor, who had just reached her half-century has to depart now. She is run out after being caught short of her crease. A superb direct hit from captain Van Niekerk. Can SA fight back from here?

20:28 (IST)

50! Sarah Taylor has reached her half-century, a great innings under pressure from her. She has proven why she is considered among the top batters in the World.

20:27 (IST)

Heather Knight upping the ante here and starting to find the boundaries, South Africa had successfully bowled a few dot balls and built some pressure but thats what wickets in hand does for you - gives you the power to take a few risks!

20:14 (IST)

England are coasting along, but they could do with a few boundaries here just to calm a few nerves in the dressing room. Although, these two look comfortable out there but a wicket can change that!

20:02 (IST)

100 up for England within 24 overs, two most experienced batters Taylor and Knight batting in the middle, and it looks all too comfortable at the moment. 119 runs required of 26 overs.

20:00 (IST)

England continuing to meander along, these two batters showing their experience and guile in the middle - rotating strike and picking up singles The required run rate is also well under control at below 5.

19:48 (IST)

England are chasing this without much of a fuss, South Africa also letting the game wither away, and looking for batters to make the mistake. England more than comfortable dealing in 1s and 2s.

19:35 (IST)

The extras are hurting South Africa here, already 3 no-balls and wides. That isn't helping their cause of defending this low target. England's two best batsmen are on the crease and are looking rather comfortable.

19:25 (IST)

WICKET! Khaka strikes again, Beaumnont departs now. She was trying to go across the line but again misses the ball which goes on to clatter the stumps. SA fighting back slowly here.

19:14 (IST)

10 overs gone, England well and truly on top here. They have got off to a real flier, scoring at above 5 rpo. They just need to keep their heads and the chase shouldn't be difficult from here.

19:07 (IST)

WICKET! First wicket for South Africa and Winfield departs, trying to go for the maximum, she takes a couple of steps down the crease but only manages to sky that one and Du Preez takes an easy catch. Khaka gets the wicket.

19:01 (IST)

Expensive over from Ismail, 13 runs coming off that one  England are really off to a flier here. They just need to play smart cricket from here on and can reach the final without taking any unnecessary risks. Wicket-keeper Chetty is also hobbling off the ground, not lookng food for the South Africans.

18:47 (IST)

Dropped! Chetty drops Winfield on 5, this might come back to hurt South Africa, it was a difficult chance behind the stumps, but it should have been taken. Was low towards her right, she is slow to get down.

18:37 (IST)

Good start for England in the chase, 4 runs coming off the first over. They will be looking to keep wickets in hand for the chase, if they manage to play 50 overs, the target shouldn't be a worry.

18:06 (IST)

That;s it after the end of 50 overs, South Africa end on 218/6. South Africa will have to bowl really well here to defend this target, England firm favourites at half-way stage.

17:52 (IST)

Two back-to-back excellent overs for England, conceding just three runs each from them. South Africa innings stumbling towards the end here.

17:45 (IST)

A big over that for South Africa, getting 12 runs and they will be hoping it gives them some much needed momentum as we enter the final five overs. 12rpo gets them to 250.

17:38 (IST)

50! Du Preez completes her half-century, it took her 74 balls. She has to look for the big hits now, and is the only player who can take South Africa somewhere close to 250.

ICC Women’s World Cup Semi-final, England vs South Africa Live Cricket Score: Eng Win by Two Wickets

PREVIEW ENG vs SA: On a roll after winning six matches on the trot, hosts England have an upper hand against South Africa in the first semi-final of the ongoing ICC Women's World Cup. England bounced back well from the opening defeat to India, including a 68-run victory over South Africa, while the Proteas have won four, lost two and had one game washed out due to rain in the World Cup. Going into the first knock-out encounter, both teams are expected to start afresh and bring out their A game. While England boast of a strong batting line-up led by their opening batswoman Tammy Beaumont, the tournament's leading run-getter with 372 runs from her seven innings, South Africa will hope for skipper Dane van Niekerk, the 2017 World Cup's highest wicket-taker (15 from six matches), will rip apart the home side's batting. England's fortunes will also bank on the form of skipper Heather Knight and senior batswomen Natalie Sciver, Fran Wilson and stumper Sarah Taylor.
