Ind vs Eng, 1st T20I Match: The Test series proved to be a nightmare for England, but the slates would be clean as both India and England don coloured clothing when they face-off in the 5-match T20I series. England, a side which was hammered in the Test series, will come into the series as the number one ranked side in the format and many believe that they are favourites to bag the series.

India vs England Ahmedabad Weather Forecast

Since, this match will commence at 07:00 PM IST, we can expect dry conditions. The pitch looks like a good one and it promises to be a belter to bat on. There is no chance of rain and if there is the dew effect, the side winning the toss would want to field first.
Eoin Morgan is leading a strong squad and he will be bolstered with the return of Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali. Also, white-ball specialists like Dawid Malan, Jason Roy and the Curran brothers are all in the squad and this makes the visitors a very strong side.
India, on the other hand, have a tried and trusted squad at their disposal and they have also added a number of new faces to the squad.

The pitch came under a lot of scrutiny for both the Test matches. It offered a lot of assistance to the spinners and we can expect a similar surface for the T20Is. However, Eoin Morgan is not too bothered with all the team talk and he believes that the pitch will give them an ideal opportunity to prepare for the T20 World Cup.

“I wouldn’t say we’re hoping for similar pitches to the Test series. I’d say [we’re hoping for] turning pitches,” Eoin Morgan said ahead of the match.

“Would we welcome the learning experience that extreme conditions could bring? Yes. It’s not the sole purpose for being here, but we are going to use it that way. I think this tour is going to be a challenge for everybody – batting, bowling and fielding – but one that we’re really looking forward to,” he went on to add.

Only one T20I match has been played at this venue where India beat Pakistan by 11 wickets
