Pujara, Pant Sign Honours Board at the SCG

The Honors Board is not a new phenomenon, having become a prevalent feature in cricket grounds around the world. The Sydney Cricket Ground also boasts of one, and after having India amass a tall score of 622 for 7 declared in the ongoing fourth Test against Australia, the two centurions for India, Cheteshwar Pujara and wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant marked their names on the board at the venue.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video on social media of the duo signing the Honours Board after the third day's play which saw the hosts being reduced to 236 for 6, with the two spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav doing the bulk of the damage taking five wickets between them.

Earlier in the Test, Pujara brought up his third century in the series and missed out on scoring a double century by seven runs when he was caught and bowled by Lyon on Day 2. Pujara went past 500 runs in the series during the knock, thereby stamping his authority and becoming a contender for the Man of the Series Award.

Pant on the other hand, became the first Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to register a century in Australia. It was Pant’s second ton of his Test career, with the first came against England in 2018.
