After a gripping T20I series, India and England will go head-to-head in a three-match ODI series starting on Tuesday at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. While India won the T20I series despite England leading twice, beating the world champions in the 50-over format will be a challenge for the hosts, who will again look for the right combination.

The hosts will be without Jasprit Bumrah again, who was left out on request following his marriage to TV presenter Sanjana Ganesan as well as Ravindra Jadeja, who is yet to recover from his injury. Mohammed Shami will also be missing the three-match affair. Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav and Krunal Pandya returned to the side while Karnataka pacer Prasidh Krishna was handed a maiden call-up.

England, on the other hand, have named a very thin squad of just 14 players with both Joe Root and Jofra Archer missing from the side. In Archer’s absence,Mark Wood is likely to lead the attack for the visitors in the pace department while Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid remain in the squad to take care of the spin bowling duties. The visitors, however, are more than capablewith the bat with Jos Buttler, Eoin Morgan, Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes all available.
