English cricket commentator and former cricketer Michael Vaughan has been in limelight ever since the England tour of India started. The former cricketer has been making predictions about England’s win, which have all turned out to be untrue. However, this time, his prediction is not the same but Indian cricket fans are still annoyed with him as they feel he has 'jinxed' India's victory.
In his latest tweet, Vaughan has predicted India’s win in the ODI series, which starts on Tuesday, March 23. The reason that he has given for India’s win is the absence of England cricketers Jofra Archer and Joe Root from the ODI squad.
The post, which clearly did not go well with Indian cricket fans, saw reactions like, ‘no performance issues in England team?’, ‘world champions depend on two players’ etc. A person who shared this sentiment, wrote, “So this is your new excuse. Joe root & jofra archer, these two gentlemen is the main reason behind your country's success in 2019 world cup.i thought in a team there are 11 players….ok, my bad.”
Another person who thought that the tweet could jinx India’s chances, said, “Problem with your prediction is that usually it's completely wrong. So now I'm worried.”
India will be squaring off against England in the first match of the three match ODI series at 1:30 PM IST on Tuesday, March 23. The other two matches are scheduled for March 26 and March 28. All these matches will be played behind closed doors at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. This has been done because there has been a spike in coronavirus cases in Maharashtra.
