Joe Root grabbed a five-for as he helped trigger an Indian collapse at Motera. Thanks to his amazing performance, India were bundled out for 145 and managed to grab a lead of just 33 runs against England. But one must not forget that the England skipper himself registered some amazing figures which read: 6.2-3-8-5.

This was the joint fifth cheapest five-for in world cricket.

Australia’s Ernie Toshack tops this list with insane figures of 2-5 against India in Brisbane in 1947. This was followed by Bert Ironmonger’s 6-5 and South African Vernon Philander’s 7-5 which came against New Zealand in 2013.
