Virat Kohli talks about execution of shots on this track. "Come back with more clarity on intent. Wicket didn't allow the shots you wanted to. Shreyas innings showed the way. Others failed to do. Below par batting performance from us today. We looked to try a few things, but as a batting side you have to accept the conditions in front of you. We got ahead of ourselves a little bit. Needed to take a little time... Shreyas did that but we lost wickets. Part of international cricket that there are ups and downs (on his form). For me it's always been about how positive I can be.

21:07 (IST)

India vs England live score: England 21-0 in 3 overs, chasing 125: Yuzvendra Chahal into the attack. A six and a four in that 11-run over. The four through a poor misfield by Thakur. Not too bad an over from Chahal though.

India Vs England: That's end of the first innings....20 overs bowled and India end with a respectable total of 124/7. Thanks to a brillint half-century from Shreyas Iyer. The pitch is slow but is it enough? Do join us when we return with England chase.

IND 113/6; One over to go.

20:32 (IST)

India Vs England: Back-to-back Wickets! for England. Hardik Pandya was playing well only to get caught off Archer and now Shardul Thakur also follows suit. It was a bouncer, he hooked and hooked it straight to the fielder. IND 105/6 (Overs 18.1)

20:25 (IST)

Ind Vs Eng live score: SIX! To end the 17th over and we have three overs remaining.....Shreyas Iyer got to his half-century but he needs to put the step on the gas. India needs runs and needs them fast. IND 103/4 (Overs 16)

20:20 (IST)

Ind 92/4.

20:15 (IST)

India Vs England: SIX! & FOUR! Hardik Pandya is back and he is back in style. First up is a huge six and then follows a freak shot for a boundary towards third man. So that's ten runs off the two balls. India need such shots.

Series Preview: After a gripping Test series between India and England, where the hosts emerged victorious by a 3-1 margin and qualified for the World Test Championship final, there’s still a limited-overs series to be played between the two sides. Come Friday, top two T20I teams will battle it out in a five-match series at the Narendra Modi Stadium. While the No.1 spot in the format is on the line in the series — if hosts win 4-1 or 5-0, they move top of the pile — the focus for India and England would be to get their team combination right ahead of the T20I World Cup.

Till now both teams have faced off in 14 T20I games, and have won seven matches each. That just goes on to show how evenly balanced both teams have been over the years, in this format, and this time, it’s no different. For England, limited-overs specialists — including skipper Eoin Morgan — have flown in, while Indian team also has gotten a makeover for the series with a host of youngsters. One would expect this to be a closely contested series, but certainly, the one where teams would look to zero in on the squads for the World Cup.
