Toss won by India (decided to bowl)

India beat Sri Lanka by 8 wickets

Man of the Match: Kuldeep Yadav

This is also India's fifth biggest win against Sri Lanka in this format when chasing. India had 107 balls still to play in the match. Also, the last time Sri Lanka won a bilateral ODI series against India was in 1997

This was Shikhar Dhawan's fourth ODI century against the Sri Lankans.

India have beaten Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in the third and final ODI at Vizag to complete their 8th successive bilateral ODI series win in emphatic style. ##India have beaten Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in the third and final ODI at Vizag to complete their 8th successive bilateral ODI series win in emphatic style.

Dinesh Karthik lofts it over cover for a boundary and India clinch victory in style at Visakhapatnam.

Dananjaya has bowled a wide and India need 1 run. Scores tied

Two more runs needed and Karthik is facing Akila Dananjaya in the 33rd over.

Century for Shikhar Dhawan! He sweeps Gunaratne away powerfully to deep square leg and pierces the boundary between two fielders to complete his 12th ODI hunrded. ##Century for Shikhar Dhawan! He sweeps Gunaratne away powerfully to deep square leg and pierces the boundary between two fielders to complete his 12th ODI hunrded.

India need 6 runs to win and Dhawan needs 4 to get his century. Is it time for the photo finish?

Dhawan is on strike after Karthik takes a single of the second ball of the over. The crowd at Visakhapatnam are egging him on for a big shot. Dhawan has obliged as he turns it away to long leg with ease for a boundary.

India are 12 runs away from completing yet another easy win. Gunaratne is into the attack and he will bowl to Karthik. Will the non-striker Dhawan have time to get the 8 runs he needs for the century.

India cross the 200 run mark as Karthik plays it with a straight bat back past Mathews for another boundary.

Shikhar Dhawan glances Mathews' delivery off the pads to fine leg for a boundary and moves into the 90s. The win and the century are just around the corner.

Sri Lanka have really wilted under pressure despite being upbeat about playing in conditions that are much more familiar to their home conditions.

Gunathilaka would not have enjoyed that over at all as Dhawan took him to the cleaners. He concedes 12 in his first over as Karthik takes a single of the last ball.

6! Shikhar Dhawan just walks out of his crease and lofts Gunathilaka over mid-on for huge six. He is also closing in on another century. 18 runs off that mark, with Indian needing 29

End of Angelo Mathews' over. Dhawan and Karthik took seven runs off that over and India now need 35 runs to win. Gunathilaka from the other end to Dhawan now in the 30th over.

Dinesh Karthik is very happy to rotate the strike by taking the singles and twos which allows Dhawan to continue his swashbuckling style of batting.

Shikhar Dhawan is in an absolute hurry to finish this match. Mathews has been swept away powerfully for a boundary of the first ball of his second over. India need less than 40 to clinch the series.

4 runs from that over as India edge closer to victory here, just a matter of time now. India need 42 runs from 22 overs here.

Dhawan just moving up the gears now, now just picks it of his pads and hits it between mid-wicket & long on for a boudnary. India need just 48 runs now.

Shikhar Dhawan becomes the 6th fastest overall and the 2nd fastest Indian after Virat Kohli to reach 4000 ODI runs. Splendid effort!

REVIEW and a successful one from Karthik, he is struck right in front of the wicket and umpire raises his finger. Karthik immediately reviews it and rightly so, there was a big inside edge there and he is safe. India 159/2

FOUR! Karthik now gets into the act, using his wrists to find the first boundary. India now need just 57 more runs off 153 deliveries to win this one.

WICKET! Shreyas Iyer departs, looking to go over midwicket, but gets it high on the bat. Lakmal takes a simple catch, there was a bit of pre-meditation in the shot which proved to be his undoing. He departs for a well made 65. India 149/2 after 22.4 overs.

Another boundary, Dhawan misses the ball going for the sweep shot, and he doesn't connect. But Dickwella and the slip fielder also miss the ball. This is some very ordinary cricket from Sri Lanka

Now 5 wides, Dickwella not having the best of days behind the stumps, Gunaratne also not helping the cause with 3 consecutive wides. 7 runs already from the over without a ball being bowled here.

Another big over for India, even Dananjaya not being spared now. He concedes 11 runs from that over. India move onto 127/1 and are in cruise control here

50! In style from Shikhar Dhawan, on 44, and he gets down on one knee and hits it over the mid-wicket boundary for a maximum. Brilliant hitting, India need just 94 now from 183 balls.

Dhawan also getting into the act now, he gets a boundary and now nears his 50. India need 100 now.

Time for drinks now, India certainly in commanding position here. They have scored more than half the required runs in just 18 overs. India 109/1 after 18 overs

PREVIEW IND vs SL: An imposing line-up and an impeccable record in this port city make India the clear favourites as they seek to clinch another series win against Sri Lanka in the third and final One-day International on Sunday. India have not lost a series at home since the defeat to South Africa in October 2015.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, are seeking to win their first ever bilateral series in India, having lost eight and drawn one. Skipper Rohit Sharma led the fightback for India in Mohali with a superb double century, his third in ODIs after the team had been outplayed in the series opener in Dharamsala. Sharma and his men will look to ride the momentum after a big win in the second game and seal the series at the ACA-VDCA stadium.
The Indian team has lost only once at the venue in the seven games played here (with one being washed out) and will hope to keep winning on what has generally been a high-scoring ground. Defeat in Dharamsala meant India can't overtake South Africa in the ICC ODI rankings but a series win is at stake. Rohit & Co will look to maintain supremacy over the visiting Lankans, having won the Test series earlier.
The India captain will look to continue the good work and domination of the Lankan attack while the other batsmen will also hope to be among runs. After being shot out for 112 in
Dharamshala, the host batting line-up regained its mojo as Rohit led from the front.
With Shikhar Dhawan chipping in with a half-century and the young Shreyas Iyer announcing himself on the big stage with a knock of 88 in the second ODI, the Indian batting seems to be back in form and would be expected to supply the runs in the series decider. The top-order's performance could prove crucial for the home team if it has to continue its dominance.
Also, the middle-order comprising Dinesh Karthik and Manish Pandey will love to be among the runs as would Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Hardik Pandya. It also looks like Ajinkya Rahane would remain on the sidelines unless the think-tank opts to pick him ahead of either Pandey or Karthik. The bowlers have looked the part so far and will aim to continue the good work on what is likely to be a batsman-friendly wicket, going by the records. And, the importance of bowling well in the first 10 overs can't be overemphasised and the lead bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah would be well aware of this as would Lanka's spearhead Suranga Lakmal.
The visitors, buoyed by news about the availability of ace all-rounder Angelo Mathews for the crucial game, will be give it their all to snatch a much-needed series win, in what has been a tough year for them. Mathews scored a ton, albeit in a losing cause in Mohali and will be the lynchpin of the batting unit, which is short on experience, as the squad aims to secure a rare series win in India.
Upul Tharanga, among the more experienced batsmen in the Lankan line-up, needs to step up and make a bigger contribution to the team's cause. The other batters including Lahiru Thirimanne, Danusha Gunathilaka and Niroshan Dickwella, have been inconsistent and will have to find ways to make sizeable scores.
The bowlers, on the other hand, will look to recover quickly from the horror show as Rohit turned on the heat. Nuwan Pradeep, who was taken for 106 in 10 overs, will look for redemption if he retains his place in the XI while Suranga Lakmal, the hero of the win at Dharamsala, holds the key for Lanka.
