Toss won by India Women (decided to bat)

India Women beat Sri Lanka Women by 16 runs

Man of the Match: Deepti Sharma

That's it. All over here, and India win by 16 runs. Sri Lanka, although not all out, never looked like threatening the chase, and it seemed were playing to bat the 50 overs. Should give them some confidence going ahead in the tournament. India remain unbeaten, but will have to work on their fielding if they have to beat the likes of Australia and England.

So, the last over left. Sri Lanka need 23 runs to win.. Meanwhile in other games, Australia and England have registered comprehensive victories over Pakistan and South Africa respectively..

WICKET! Manodara departs now, as she comes down the wicket to try and go for the maximum. But she completely misses the ball and Verma completes an easy stumping. Manodara played well for her 61.

Final three overs left here, and 42 runs still required for Sri Lanka. You can't help but feel that its mere formality as India are well and truly home here.

Final 5 overs to go, and Manodara seems to be the only batter who can win this for Sri Lanka from here on, but it would be nothing less than a miracle if they manage to chase down 54 from 30 balls.

WICKET! Another one falls for Sri Lanka trying to up the ante, Weerakkody has to go now after hitting a couple of boundaries, trying to go over the top but only managing to find Krishnamurthy at cover.

WICKET! Ama Kanchana has to depart now, and thats the fifth wicket down for Sri Lanka. She is run out after being sent back looking for a quick single, Joshi with a good throw and Harmanpreet Kaur does the rest. Kanchana departs for 7.

Again 8 runs coming from that over, and Sri Lanka are managing to stay alive here by the skin of their teeths. 95 runs required from the final 10 overs. Can they do it?

WICKET! Siriwardena has to depart here, and Jhulan Goswami gets the wicket. Siriwardena again trying to go for the big hit, and Krishnamurthy takes a good catch running in from long on. Siriwardena departs for 37.

Another expensive over for India, and this partnership has reached 50 also. Manodara and Siriwardena are keeping Sri Lanka intrested in this chase here..

Goswami comes back into the attack, and she brings some pace into the attack, making it easier for the batsmen to hit boundaries. An expensive over that as 10 runs come from it.

As we finally enter the last 15 overs, Sri Lanka need 135 runs to win from here. Looks to be a rather steep task but they do have wickets in hand here!

Sri Lanka finally stepping on the gas here, two boundaries coming from that over and 9 runs from the over in total. Sri Lanka need more such overs here.

The required run rate is well above 6 now, in fact almost touching 8. Sri Lanka not showing any urgency here but they will have to step on the accelerator here if they have to stay in the chase. The current run rate is only 2.7.

India is continuing to attack with spinners, who have been tough to get away throughout the day. This is a good strategy from India as the pitch has been conducive to spin bowling.

WICKET! Hansika departs now, and Poonam gets her second wicket. It's a smart stumping from Wicket-keeper Verma, as Hansika looses her balance while going for the sweep shot. Verma wastes no time in dislodging the bails.

FOUR! Poor effort in the field there from Ekta Bisht, as India gives away an unneccessary boundary - allowing Sri Lanka to ease the pressure.

Now it is indeed a tall order for Sri Lanka to chase down this total here, Atapattu was indeed the important wicket and India has got her cheaply. Will be intresting to see how SL approach this from here.

WICKET! Poonam strikes! Atapattu has to depart. She was trying to sweep Poonam but the ball stayed low it seems, and the batter completely misses it. The ball goes and rattles the stumps. Big wicket this for India!

India's spinners continuing the good work here, they aren't giving the Sri Lankan batters any loose balls and are keeping things really tight here..

India continue to attack with spin here, Ekta Bisht has been introduced into the attack and now even Harmanpreet is coming into the attack. Can she give India the breakthrough?

Another maiden, as Jhulan Goswami continues her tight line and length. This has been a great start for India, as Sri Lanka's scoring rate continues to be below 3. Atapattu knows that she is the most important wicket here, and is hence taking her time to settle.

Two back-to-back maidens from Deepti Sharma, Sri Lankan batters are struggling to get the spinners away here as they maintain a tight line and length. Good bowling this from Deepti.

India has decided to introduce some spin into the attack, as Deepti Sharma comes on to bowl in place of Manasi Joshi..

Sri Lanka not bogged down by the fall of wicket as Hansika now looks to play the aggressor,  she got two crisp boundaries off that Joshi over.

WICKET! Goswami strikes, and Perera has to depart. She goes down on one knee, attempting to hit the ball over the inner ring but can only succeed in holing out to Mandhana, who takes a simple catch. Perera departs for 10.

Perera seems to have come out with the intent of going after the bowling here, as she hits one inside out over the inner circle. Good aggressive batting this, showing some intent.

Indian pacers bowling some tight line and length here, Manasi Joshi giving away just 2 runs, and then Jhulan Goswami follows it up with another tight over.

5 runs coming from the first over, and it is a good start for Sri Lanka, This target is chaseable for the Lankan Lions if they keep wickets in their hand. India will be looking for early breakthroughs,

Jhulan Goswami will start the proceedings for India, Hansika and Perera to open the innings for Sri Lanka..
