IND vs UAE Highlights, Women's Asia Cup 2022 Updates: Rodrigues, Deepti Shine as India Thrash UAE

India made some big changes in the line-up to give opportunities to the players who warmed the bench in the early matches. The experiment in the opening department failed miserably but Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma assured that India post a challenging total in front of the UAE. Rodrigues remained unbeaten on 75 while Deepti scored crucial 64 runs. The 179-run target was too much for the UAE batters as they lost early three wickets with just 5 runs on the scoreboard. Rajeshwari Gayakwad claimed a couple of wickets but Kavisha Egodage and Khushi Sharma shared a gritty stand but they were too slow as the Indian bowlers stuck to their disciplined line. India will next face arch-rivals Pakistan on October 7.

A dominant victory for India as they continue their winning run in the multi-nation tournament. UAE were no match for this quality Indian side. Pooja hammered a six and a boundary before falling prey to Esha Oza. Pooja plays a flat-batted shot straight down long-on but finds the safe hands of Kavisha Egodage.

Deepti Sharma departs after playing a magnificent knock of 64 runs off 49 balls. She goes down the line, looks to hit Suraksha Kotte’s fuller delivery over the fence but ends up getting caught by Mahika Gaur towards the left of long-on.

Suraksha Kotte comes into the attack and gets hit for a hat-trick of boundaries by Jemimah. The first two swept through backward square leg and over wide of mid-wicket, respectively. The third one was pulled over square leg. 147 on board for India.

Deepti Sharma and Jemimah Rodrigues put a 100-run stand for the 4th wicket. Both have scored their respective half-centuries and striking superbly against the UAE bowlers.
