Indian Cricket Team Sweat it Out Ahead of First ODI Against Sri Lanka

After having wrapped up a record ninth consecutive Test series win recently at the Ferozeshah Kotla in New Delhi, the Indian cricket team have begun their preparations for the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka in Dharamsala. India will play Sri Lanka in three ODI matches and three T20 Internationals after that. The hosts had won the three match Test series 1-0.

India, who will be led by the stylish batsman Rohit Sharma will play their first ODI against the Lankans at the picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

The change in leadership is temporary as the selectors decided to afford the swashbuckling Virat Kohli some much needed rest after he said needed a break before the upcoming South Africa series.

After playing the first ODI in front of the Dhauladhar ranges, both India and Sri Lanka will move to Mohali for the second match, with the third tie slated for the port city of Visakhapatnam on December 17.

Earlier, there were some question marks on the status of the ODI and T20 matches after the Sri Lankan sports minister had barred players from travelling to India because he was unhappy with the squad selected. That though was solved pretty quickly.

India squad for the ODI series: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik, MS Dhoni (WK), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddarth Kaul
