KL Rahul played a sensational hand and almost single-handedly guided Kings XI Punjab to victory over Mumbai Indians only to be dismissed in the 19th over by Jasprit Bumrah which completely changed the game.

Rahul was dejected after his dismissal and even though he got the orange cap for his efforts, the sadness of the loss could be seen in his body language. However, after the game, Hardik Pandya showed great sportsmen spirit as he consoled Rahul and also exchanged jersey with the Kings XI Punjab opener.

The two are close friends and can be often seen together when with Team India.

It looked like a clinical show on the cards for Kings XI Punjab with KL Rahul and Aaron Finch in complete control against the Mumbai Indians bowlers at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday. But as they say, it isn’t over till the fat lady sings and Jasprit Bumrah once again showed why he is considered as one of the best in the business when it comes to bowling in the death as he not only dismissed Rahul for 94 in the 19th over, but also gave away just 6 runs as Mumbai Indians won by 3 runs to fight another day in this edition of the Indian Premier League.

Chasing 187 at the Wankhede is never a big task, and with Rahul and Finch taking control after the early loss of Chris Gayle (18) gave the Mumbai bowlers hope. But the joy was short-lived as both Rahul and Finch seemed to have a plan on their mind. They kept running the singles and hit the occasional boundary to keep the required rate under check. While Rahul played quality shots all round the wicket, Finch was more about running the hard yards.
